Position Summary...
What you'll do...
Operational Datastores Product Management team is looking for a passionate product manager to own datastore products in a portfolio that spans Azure, Google, and Walmart clouds. Operational datastores are a critical dependency for omnichannel commerce, edge and enterprise workloads.
A large fleet of {Relational, NoSQL, Cache, Search} datastores presents opportunities to optimize for Walmart while delighting tens of thousands of developers worldwide.
About Team:
Cloud and Data Platforms organization is responsible for platform and infrastructure services used by Walmart omni channel commerce technologies serving customers, members, and associates.
The portfolio spans physical infrastructure (datacenters, edge), private and public clouds, operational and analytics datastores, streaming and messaging platforms, Big Data platforms, AI ecosystem, observability (metrics, log, trace), data governance tools. The portfolio depends on a multi-cloud (private and public clouds) strategy that maximizes leverage when taking dependency on a platform service.
What you'll do:
- Fearless advocate for users during investment reviews.
- Drive clarity and alignment with a strong bias to action. Manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication targeting stakeholders at multiple levels spanning organizations.
- Deliver in a hybrid public and private cloud (multi-cloud) infrastructure.
- Influence external (public cloud) partners to deliver features, optimize their service for Walmart workloads.
- Use product success metrics to make investment decisions, engage users and reduce waste.
- Good understanding of cloud-native operational datastore technologies and distributed systems in general.
What you'll bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
- 12+ years in product management or engineering discipline to deliver products with business impact.
- Expert at using data that may not be readily available to inform decisions.
- Self-starter with attention to detail, comfortable with ambiguity.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to negotiate, influence stakeholders (peers to executives).
- Strong technical background to engage with senior engineers, provide strategic thought leadership for the domain
