What you'll do...
The mission for Market Product Strategy Team is to establish an overarching Customer-centric multi-market OmniChannel Strategy(which leverages Walmart’s global footprint & tech capabilities), cascading that to various levels of the organization while driving Product Operational efficiency with a relentless focus on measuring and improving Business Outcomes & Outputs
About Team:
Focusing on customer, associate and business needs, this team works with Walmart International, which includes more than 5,200 retail units, operating in 23 countries such as Canada, Central America, Chile, China, India, Mexico and South Africa to name a few.
What you'll do:
You’ll Make an Impact by
- Defining vision and strategies for your market and product group, using market expertise, internal and external best practices; identifying market opportunities, building business cases, and approving objectives
- Working with market business leadership, prepare a comprehensive market product strategy and roadmap (including production of a market tech narrative)
- Gain alignment with stakeholders and Int’l Tech to deliver on the market product strategy
- In conjunction with the domain product team, align on the appropriate high level technology solution to deliver on the market product strategy
- Build and defend business cases to support the market product strategy
- Secure the funding necessary (I.e. budget approval) from the market to deliver on that roadmap
- Identify, address and resolve cross-team/domain dependencies and ensure continued alignment
- Own the communication through both regular/formal channels (e.g. QBRs) as well as more irregular channels of the successes, risks and progress of the market product roadmap
Detailed Roles and Responsibilities include :
Leading the team that generates an Omni Channel product roadmap by aligning business, operations and technical needs, analyzing customer and product data for actionable insights, determining rollout strategy, and managing risks and new opportunities Setting vision and strategies for your product family, using domain expertise, internal and external best practices, identifying market opportunities, building business cases, and approving objectives.. Building collaborative relationships with key partners by driving priorities aligned to OKRs, communicating and prioritizing product roadmaps, and gaining buy-in from executive leadership Providing overall direction by analyzing business objectives and customer needs Ensuring critical business issues are considered; serving as the voice of the customer in product decisions that impact customer experience. championing the prioritization of initiatives to Product Management leadership; guiding product managers to ensure product specifications are understood by Engineering; Overseeing team members' work on multiple portfolios throughout the product lifecycle by questioning and clarifying the cross-functional implications of all product decisions; supporting team members as they interact with the development team; overseeing pilot testing of new product and proof of concept initiatives; and coaching product managers as they consider changes to project scope, timeline, or resources. Driving the execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs; developing and communicating business plans and priorities; removing barriers and obstacles that impact performance; providing resources; identifying performance standards; measuring progress and adjusting performance accordingly; developing contingency plans; and demonstrating adaptability and supporting continuous learning. Supporting product managers to uncover latent customer needs, competitive threats, and emerging trends through research; working with product managers to develop clear and complete business case presentations for senior management; ensuring product
managers use accurate and robust financial modeling and scenario analysis for major initiatives; and identifying resources needed to execute product roadmap based on demand, priority, and capacity.
