This opportunity is centered on delivering solutions based on these innovations emerging from VMware’s Spring OSS and commercial teams and integrating them with best-in-class enterprise cloud-native solutions – supporting container platforms such as Kubernetes and Cloud Foundry.
Success in the Role: What are the performance goals over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?
Expand your existing knowledge of the Spring OSS ecosystem and associated outcomes that can be enhanced through our solutions
Develop an understanding of the broader Tanzu portfolio and how Spring can best integrate with those solutions
Build a strong partnership with Tanzu Product Management and align business vision
Foster a team and community culture of empathy, curiosity, and psychological safety
Think like a developer and work with designers to deliver a first class developer experience!
What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?
You will be the Product Manager focused on Spring application developer outcomes within the Tanzu organization at VMware. This highly-distributed Tanzu team is chartered with enabling Spring cloud-native architecture patterns and practices across the solution portfolio. You will be joining a fast-paced, startup-like team working on solutions using a variety of technologies including Java, Spring, Angular, gRPC, Backstage, AI/ML and GraphQL.
Help define the product strategy to evolve VMware’s Spring ecosystem commercial offerings.
Work with a globally distributed team and collaborators and manage the challenges in that type of environment.
Work with other Product Managers and Engineering teams to drive the successful product outcomes.
Engage with product designers to deliver impactful application developer user experiences.
Leverage your existing and broadening Spring ecosystem knowledge in day-to-day interactions with the team, customers and collaborators.
Make complicated value-based prioritization decisions to help collaborators and teams focus their efforts.

The team is distributed around the globe. Most of the team works out of North America and Europe. You will be part of the Tanzu Spring ecosystem and commercial offerings team as a Product Manager reporting to the Director of Product Management responsible for Application Developer Ecosystem support within the Tanzu portfolio of solutions.
Where is the role located?
Remote: this role is fully remote and can be done anywhere in Spain. Most of the engineering team is located in Spain, United Kingdom and the Eastern time zone of North America. You will align working hours to overlap sufficiently given the location of the team members.
